Born on August 18, 1970, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Warner rose to national fame as Theodore "Theo" Huxtable on The Cosby Show (1984–1992), a role that earned him an Emmy nomination and endeared him to millions worldwide.

Warner's career extended far beyond The Cosby Show. He showcased his versatility starring in the UPN sitcom Malcolm & Eddie (1996–2000) and the sitcom Reed Between the Lines (2011, 2015). His dynamic range was further proven in dramatic roles such as Al Cowlings on FX's The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story and as Dr. A.J. Austin on FOX's The Resident until 2023.


Beyond acting, Warner was a gifted director and producer, having helmed episodes of popular shows like Kenan & Kel and Malcolm & Eddie, as well as directing impactful projects including an NAACP-award-winning AIDS-awareness video. His creative talents extended to music, where he won a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Traditional R&B Performance with "Jesus Children" and earned a Grammy nomination for his spoken-word poetry album "Hiding In Plain View," reflecting his passion for storytelling and social consciousness.
